THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE - 60 MIN
Therapeutic massage is a type of massage that aims to treat specific health issues or conditions through targeted manipulation of the soft tissues of the body. Unlike relaxation massage, which aims to provide a soothing experience and reduce stress, therapeutic massage is more clinically oriented and is often used as part of a treatment plan for various health problems.
Therapeutic massage may involve a variety of techniques such as deep tissue massage, Swedish massage, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, and others. The specific techniques used depend on individual needs and goals for the therapy session.
Some common conditions for which therapeutic massage may be used include muscle tension, chronic pain, sports injuries, rehabilitation after injuries or surgery, headaches, stress-related disorders, and certain medical conditions such as fibromyalgia or arthritis.
It is important to note that therapeutic massage should be performed by a trained and licensed massage therapist who can assess your individual needs and tailor the treatment accordingly. Additionally, it is often used as part of a comprehensive treatment plan in conjunction with other therapies or interventions recommended by healthcare professionals.
SWEDISH MASSAGE - 60 MIN - 90 MIN
Swedish massage, also known as classic massage, is one of the most common types of therapeutic massage. It was developed by a Swedish physiologist named Per Henrik Ling in the early 19th century.
Swedish massage involves various techniques designed to relax the muscles by applying pressure against the deeper muscles and bones, rubbing in the same direction as the flow of blood returning to the heart. It usually includes long gliding strokes (effleurage), kneading of the muscles (petrissage), friction, tapping (tapotement or percussion), and sometimes vibrations.
The main goal of Swedish massage is to promote relaxation, increase blood circulation, relieve muscle tension, and improve overall well-being. It is often used for general relaxation, stress reduction, and as a component of holistic wellness routines. Additionally, Swedish massage can be adapted to meet the specific concerns or preferences of the person receiving the massage.
Swedish massage is typically performed on a massage table with the client undressed (or wearing minimal clothing) and covered with a sheet or towel for modesty and warmth. The therapist will apply massage oil or lotion to facilitate the gliding of hands and reduce friction on the skin.
SPORTS MASSAGE - 60 MIN
Sports massage is a specialized form of massage therapy that focuses on treating and preventing sports-related injuries and improving athletic performance.
It incorporates various techniques from traditional massage therapy, such as Swedish massage, as well as specific methods tailored to the needs of athletes and physically active individuals.
The main objectives of sports massage include:
1.Preventing Injuries
By addressing muscle imbalances, increasing flexibility, and improving circulation, sports massage can help reduce the risk of injuries during physical activity.
2.Improve performance
Sports massage can help athletes prepare for events by improving their range of motion, increasing muscle flexibility, and enhancing overall muscle function, leading to better athletic performance.
3. Facilitating Recovery
After intense physical activity or competition, sports massage can aid in the recovery process by reducing muscle soreness, promoting circulation to eliminate metabolic waste, and accelerating the healing of soft tissue injuries.
Sports massage techniques can include deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, stretching, and compression techniques. The specific techniques used depend on the individual needs of the athlete, the type of sport or activity they are involved in, and the phase of their training or competition season.
Sports massage is typically performed by a trained and experienced massage therapist who has a good understanding of anatomy, biomechanics, and the requirements of various sports. It can be used as part of a comprehensive training program for athletes, both professional and recreational, to help them achieve their performance goals while minimizing the risk of injury.
